Texas Holdem Poker – Managing Your Money
When a player does not manage their money properly, they will be much more likely to end up with no many in their pockets compared to a person that knows how they should be managing their money.
It does not matter if you are buying in small stakes, or high stakes every player should only invest up to a certain percentage of their bankroll into one table or tournament at a time. This could also be changed to having a set number of buy-ins. For amateur players, it is typically wise to have at least 15 buy-ins. This means that if you are waiting to play 11+1 sit n gos, then you are going to need at least 180 dollars to be managing your money properly. Pro’s like to have even more than 15 buy-ins to work with.
Many of you are wondering why in the world you would need to have 15 times what your going to buy-in for. This is because although poker takes a lot of skill to win at, there is also luck in the game. Players are never going to win and can even hit a bad string of luck. Fifteen buy-ins makes sure that your bankroll is able to sustain the swings that occur in poker. With proper bankroll management, you can dramatically increase your chances of winning on the tables in the long run.
