12g Edge Spot NexGen Custom Poker Chips Expert Review

July 9th, 2009 Poker Chips

It’s only been about a month since I purchased these 12g Edge Spot NexGen Custom Poker Chips, but the story is just too crazy to keep to myself. About once a year our large family comes from all around the United States to meet at my uncle’s cottage on the lake in Michigan. Seriously, we probably have well over 100 family members that go to this thing, and 75% of us play Texas Holdem.

This past family reunion was no different except for the fact that everyone was supposed to bring something new. We’ve been playing with the same cards, the same folding tables, and the same poker chips for probably fifteen years. Everyone has their own separate lives, so you won’t find all of us there at any given time. However, when we start playing poker, the family is out the window and our competitive nature takes over.

Since this was our grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary celebration, everyone came decked out in their best attire, and some of the best poker accessories I have ever seen. My uncle Tim, Aunt Cindy and uncle Bob, put their funds together and purchased 3 marble style poker tables. My cousin Jeff and his brother Brent brought some decks of cards they bought at six different casinos in Vegas.

Then there were seven of us who got poker chips. Would you believe that five of us ended up getting 12g Edge Spot NexGen Custom Poker Chips? It was absolutely hysterical, but not just because we ended up getting the same poker chips. It’s the fact that each one of them was a different color and no two were the same. We didn’t plan it at all, but the end result was perfect for the celebration.

The conversations must have gone on for hours as each one of us told stories about what attracted us to the 12g Edge Spot NexGen Custom Poker Chips. Many of the answers were the same. Whether it was the Las Vegas, Nevada, USA imprint around the poker chips, the colors, or the clay molding and 12grams that make them feel like casino style poker chips. There were many others, but no one had an answer for how we ended up with different colors.

I mean my favorite color is green, and most everyone else went with their favorites as well, but the diversity was a little ridiculous. Then again, it allowed us to utilize different denominations. It was the first time that we tried to set up a true tournament and it was nothing short of a success. To top it off my grandfather outsmarted every single one of us and won.

We couldn’t have asked for a better ending to a great weekend. I seriously can’t wait until next year comes along and we get to do it all over again. While our situation may be different from yours, the 12g Edge Spot NexGen Custom Poker Chips are perfect for any scenario. If there is one thing to leave you with, it’s the fact that these poker chips truly make you feel like you’re playing like a pro.
